Fractions Are Fantastic

Help me give my students an opportunity to practice their fraction skills using a self-checking tile system that uses puzzles and patterns to keep them engaged.

My Students

My beautiful students range in age from seven to eleven years old. Unfortunately, most of my students already have obstacles blocking a successful beginning to their academic and social journey. Many live in poverty, struggle with the English language, and have extremely limited resources.

Even though they are faced with so many challenges, they come to school every day with a willingness and a desire to learn.

If you were to visit our classroom you would not know my students were faced with so many challenges because their positive energy and desire to learn are noticed right away!

My Project

My students love math. They get excited whenever it's time for math because it's filled with patterns, groups, numbers and operations that make sense to them. Now, however, things have started to change. My students are learning about fractions and discovering numbers greater than zero but less than one and it's not so easy for them.

Fractions can be fun when you have the right materials in front of you leading the way.

Just like most things, the more you practice the better at it you will be. Learning about fractions is no different. My students need to practice these skills daily and using the Versa Tiles will do just that. Versa Tiles are a self-checking skills practice system that can be done anytime and anywhere in our classroom. Most importantly the tiles can be used everyday and are easy to use. They will help my students build confidence and self-esteem and that is what my students need.
