My classroom is a place of challenge and discovery. Students spend the year learning the foundation skills they will need as they move forward in their elementary education and throughout their lives. My students are 3rd graders in Utah.
They are excited to explore the world through hands-on exploration to expand their capacity for critical thinking.
It is important for me to help them learn to take pride in their efforts and be willing to challenge their minds for the sake of learning.
My Project
In third grade one of the most difficult concepts we learn is how to compare fractions and find equivalent fractions. It is a difficult concept for third graders to grasp. Not only are they learning about fractions for the first time, they are learning difficult concepts with those fractions.
I need as many resources as possible for my students to compare fractions and find equivalent fractions.
These bars are perfect for them to visually see the size of fractions. They make a difficult thing much easier.
I would like each child to have the opportunity to have their own fractions bars at their desks in order to help them understand fractions.
