I have the most amazing fourth graders who love school and learning and want to do well. My students are motivated to learn and are great students. However, as fourth graders, they are in a transitional stage where teachers no longer do everything for them and they have to learn independence. Fourth grade expectations are that students put things away and learn organizational skills that are lifelong skills for them to learn. I want my students to learn how to be organized before they move to middle school where expectations for being organized are even harder. When my students transition for my class, they don't have a cubby to put their stuff so they need to only bring necessary stuff and we don't want things on the floor because this becomes a hazard where someone can trip.
Organizational skills is a lifelong skill that needs to be developed for students for the rest of their educational careers and for life itself.
By giving my students these seat back pockets, they will be able to put their chromebooks, notebooks, pencils, and folders neatly behind their chairs so that everything is off the floor and neatly stored so that students have everything that they need when they need it. Thank you so much for helping my students have what they need to be the amazing learners that they are!
