This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
This Fall, our 5th-grade students are learning how to be future entrepreneurs to tap into their creative side and pull their innovation out through Project Based Learning. Students have worked together as a group to create lemonade, mug, and tumbler businesses. Their lemonade business has been a hit and we are attempting to sell lemonade once a week.
I have discovered that these hands-on projects have given them leadership, marketing, interpersonal, and problem-solving real-life experiences and have helped them develop responsibility and financial literacy.
What better way to continue entrepreneurship than to expand the use of Cricut technology and tools by making hats, mugs, shirts, and candles? These products will encourage them to design, develop, and distribute their ideas (t-shirts, cups, and other crafts) while learning more about business, financial literacy, and independence.
This project hopes to continue to build upon math skills learned in the classroom, provide life skills, and continue to help students consider another pathway for their future. This group of students needs your support to continue to expand this project to a year-long program.
