Fostering Creativity and Collaboration With Dungeons and Dragons

Help me give my students D&D Player’s Handbook, Melee Mats DND Map Starter Kit for Dungeons & Dragons Game, Nabisco Sweet Treats Cookie Variety, Polyhedral Dice Set and other tools they need to create their own worlds through dungeons and dragons!

My Project

When I was a new high school student, I felt like I didn't fit in and didn't have many friends. Then, when I did make a friend he invited me to play dungeons and dragons with him. From then on, I had a solid group of friends that I could always count on playing games with. Even when I went to new schools, I was able to find comradery and friendship through table top roleplaying games like this. I now want to create an environment where those same opportunities exist for my students.

Studies show that students who have strong social bonds with other students and adults in their school have higher attendance, are more likely to graduate, and end up doing better in school.

Creating a space for students to form bonds while also learning how to collaborate and write stories as a team is just one small goal of this project. The skills students learn are directly transferrable not just to their classes, but to other aspects of their life. They learn how to work together, how to problem-solve, as well as math, writing, and language skills.

Lastly, I want this space to be safe and fun. That's why I'm asking not just for the D&D books and the dice, but for snacks. Playing table top roleplaying games should be a full experience; a tale told with laughter, friendship, and yes--popcorn.
