My Project

Welcome to our DonorsChoose project aimed at fostering a sense of belonging and community in our high school special education class! We are seeking support to acquire a variety of board and card games that will not only provide entertainment but also promote social interaction, communication skills, and cognitive development among our students.

As a special education class, creating a supportive and inclusive environment is paramount, and these games will be instrumental in achieving that goal.

Board and card games offer numerous benefits beyond mere entertainment. They encourage collaboration, critical thinking, decision-making, and turn-taking—skills essential for academic and social success. In our special education class, where students may face unique challenges in these areas, incorporating games into our curriculum can be transformative. Additionally, games provide a non-threatening platform for students to engage with peers, fostering friendships and a sense of belonging within the classroom community.
