I would love to gift my students some basic supplies, such as pencils, highlighters, and notebooks to help them navigate heading back to in person learning after being out of school for over 1.5 years. All of my students are special needs and they struggle with being prepared and organized. My students have a variety of learning challenges. I have students with Autism, ADHD, ADD, other health impairments, and Emotional disorders. Many are reading and writing below grade level and struggle to comprehend and apply the skills presented in their classes. Many of my students are from low-income families and the majority come to school needing basic supplies. So many struggle with the obtains those basics supplies and I want to do everything I can to help. Seeing a smile on their face when they accomplish something they thought they never could achieve makes it all worth it.
