Fostering a Love of Reading

Help me give my students a love of reading books of their choice. The mobile book organizer will be used to house their favorite characters and make them easy to find.

My Project

The sling bookshelf will help me make connections with our main book we are reading. For example. if we are reading The Three Billy Goats Gruff, I would also pull books on goats, bridges and trolls. I try to tie in nonfiction books with each fiction story we read. The mobile book organizer will be used for our primary students. Favorite and popular characters will be separated into each bin so it is easy for students to find them.

My goal is to foster of love of reading early in my students lives.

I want them to feel confident in their book choices and see how a variety of books are connected. Most of my students love to read in the early grades, but as they get older, that love of reading decreases. My hope is by reaching them early, that love of reading will stay with them after they leave elementary school.
