Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school. My students face challenges every day in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, they are so excited about school. School is a safe place for them, a place where no one can hurt them, physically or emotionally. All of my students receive free breakfast and lunch because for many students, school is the only place where they will be able to eat.

Although odds may be against them, they have the perseverance to succeed in school.

They are some of the most resilient students and are ready to learn every day. My focus is to give them a rich learning environment with positive experiences and hope for their future. Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best.

My Project

Building a mindful classroom is so important. Growth mindset will allow children to persevere through challenging times. Having coping skills to deal with bullying and hard tasks, resolving issues and finding peace will motivate kids to do their best. I would like to encourage students to build confidence and learn how to turn their "I can't" attitude into "I can." The growth mindset posters, decals, and decorations will foster a welcoming environment for my upcoming fifth graders.

These resources will help me cultivate lifelong learners who can make a positive difference in the world with great strategies to promote a growth mindset.

This project will motivate students to strengthen their skills and reach their potential to be the best students ever!
