This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are thriving young musicians. They are exploring all aspects of performance from music literacy, character development, solo performance, and ensemble experiences. Music experiences encourage collaboration.
Meeting students with 21st-century real-world learning opportunities is essential to providing relevance in a traditional music performance ensemble.
I share this idea with my students often. "We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit." ~Aristotle.
Our school is in the heart of a community that supports education and knows its value. Students are motivated and engaged. Students are eager to learn; they embrace a challenging work environment, and they desire to be the best in all endeavors.
My Project
Understanding the value of performance and presentation is crucial for a young artist. Student's are responsible for their choral uniform. The young ladies wear formal black attire and the young men wear tuxedos. We perform a lot and sometimes we need to freshen up our look. To avoid asking students for more funds for our Spring Concert I would like to find funding to provide an additional item to what we already have. The vest and tie set, along with the pearl set will definitely enhance what we already do.
This project will definitely help my students' stage presence in a formal way.
A neat and attractive presentation is extremely important when performing. The way we sound is important but the attire always gives a polished look to the final product.
