My Project

My students are very interested in learning about the weather. They are also artistic and creative. However, they struggle to read grade level materials and texts. Creating with playdoh, paints, markers and color pencils are fun ways they express their creativity and is always fun! I would like my students to learn how to decode better so that they can read all the books that they are interested in, which is weather, climate and animals. Using these materials, we will be reading about how weather works and and interpret it through art. Bright colors are represented in our world in so many wonderful and natural ways that we can only try to replicate them as best we can—but we will try!

The products I have selected will allow us to bring weather to life on paper.

It will be a new medium for them to use playdoh, paints, markers and color pencils, and doing it in small groups will be amazing!

When equipped with these requested materials, my students will begin to see themselves as illustrators and be able to interpret different weather phenomenon and also help them decode and spell.
