It has become a favorite spot for looking at books and a space to have a calming moment. The kids really enjoy the bright colors and fun design of frogs and butterflies around a pond at night. \r\n Showing the class the new colorful clipboards was so fun also! Watching a kindergartener get excited about writing is an amazing experience for a teacher. Something as simple as a clipboard helps a child grow more confident in expressing themselves through drawings and words. Our kindergarten classroom at Newington Forest is filled with eager learners who love to use a clipboard and work on the floor or to walk around the room with the clipboard. The clipboards provide a stable writing surface for the students. I have seen confidence grow in the class when they can access comfortable places in the class to practice their writing skills. Having a sturdy place to store the clipboards has also been wonderful. It has fostered independence in the class and helped them to use the clipboards responsibly and safely. We truly appreciate the love and contribution you have given to have this project fulfilled and sent to us. With these materials, we plan to use them to learn about compassion and empathy. The students were very excited to unbox and receive the items. \r\n\r\nWe used the art materials to make our activities lively and colorful to display when we read about different examples of kindness in books that we have read. We used the weighted animals for roleplaying activities and to help students to calm down, take a breath and the TPT card was used to buy materials and resources to teach compassion and empathy. In our class discussions, we talked about different examples of how kindness and compassion is manifested and then drew and made pictures and art to demonstrate our understanding. We also talked and reflected on ways we can be kind to others in our own special ways.
