My Students

My students this year are a wonderful, diverse class full of curiosity, a willingness to learn, and a love of knowledge. They range in reading from a Kindergarten level to a fourth-grade level and need a lot of personalized curriculum to fit their individual needs.

My students attend a Title I school and don't always have access to the materials at home or the adults at home that can help them improve their reading skills to make adequate progress.

I feel like my students would benefit from the addition resources that I am requesting to help improve their reading skills.

My Project

These materials will make a difference in my students' learning by giving them more individualized learning options. For example, for some of the struggling reading in my classroom, they can use magnetic wands or dotters to practice phonemic awareness and say each individual sound in a word. For those students who are close to grade level, but still struggling a little bit, they can use the little readers to read with a partner or in a small group. For those students who are on grade level or above grade level, they can independently read one of the chapter books or do some writing on their own. These skills can be used at school or at home.
