Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are amazing, creative, brilliant middle schoolers! I work with sixth graders as a restorative discipline counselor supporting students in their social emotional and academic growth.

We are building and growing our community relationships through small group meetings, one on one counseling and focused, supportive whole student education through wrap around services.

My Project

This academic year has been tough as students are transitioning back in person after a year and a half of being online. There have been so many struggles for students navigating this world affected by climate-change, and covid-19.

The goal behind this project is aligned with our mission to build up their sense of safety and belonging in their classrooms, and build up their joy of the reading and immersing themselves in the power of stories.

This project aims to expand their reading choices and reinforce their joy in learning.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
