Help me give my students a rich classroom library and books sets for book clubs to enhance reading achievement and encourage a love for reading.

My Students

For students to succeed today, they need more skills and knowledge than ever before. I will be switching to fifth grade next year, teaching a group of enthusiastic students with a wide variety of needs and learning styles.

We are a small, isolated, island community with roughly three thousand people, consisting of various socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds.

With this move to fifth grade, my goal is to have my students develop a love for reading that they will take with them into middle school.

My Project

It is important that students gain a love for reading. Multiple studies show that when students choose their own books, it boosts their reading ability.

Book choice is an important step in getting students hooked on reading.

By creating an organized classroom library with high interest books, students will get lost in stories of their choice and become excited about reading.

Book Clubs are another way to make reading fun. In small groups, students are able read and interact with each other about books that they have chosen together. The opportunity to make their own choice leads students to feel more empowered and motivated.

My students will love having more books to choose from. Thank you so much for your consideration.
