I am teaching two large groups of enthusiastic third graders with a wide variety of cognitive levels. I have about 60 students that I will see daily for language arts and social studies. We are a small, isolated island community with roughly 3,000 people, consisting of various socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds. Our state has just recently transitioned to Common Core Standards.
