My students need an Amazon Kindle Tablet, with case and warranty, that they can use for reading and listening to stories during our reading workshop.

Reading workshop can be an intimidating time of the day for students who believe they cannot read! There is nothing worse than watching a student put down a book because they don't have the confidence to keep trying.
My students are amazing, energetic, and inquisitive learners who have a drive and desire to succeed that I have not seen before.
However, many of them come from neighborhoods that do not foster this love of learning, and do not afford them the opportunities they need to achieve! Many of my students are reading well below grade level, and while they may love to listen to stories, they are intimidated at the thought of picking up a book.
My students need an Amazon Kindle Tablet, with case and warranty, that they can use for reading and listening to stories during our reading workshop. I am requesting a Kindle which I believe will bring the love of reading back to those students who are scared of books. They will be able to listen to audio books as well as read the hundreds of picture books and leveled books that Amazon has available. I am hoping to give students a little more confidence during reading, and also to help them enjoy this time. Reading is fundamental and the love of reading starts at a very young age.
"I cannot remember a time when I did not love to read".
However not all children can say this! For many children reading is something that is boring or scary. As an educator I know reading is fundamental to the success of my scholars, so with your help I hope to bring the love of reading back to my students!
