My students are amazing, energetic, and inquisitive learners who have a drive and desire to succeed that I have not seen before. However, many of them come from neighborhoods that do not foster this love of learning, and do not afford them the opportunities they need to achieve! Many of my students are reading well below grade level, and while they may love to listen to stories, they are intimidated at the thought of picking up a book.
