My Students

My third-graders are eager, enthusiastic learners with a wide range of developmental and academic needs. My students thrive when given the opportunity to express themselves creatively through projects. They enjoy learning in small groups, and I find this is the best way to meet their diverse needs. About 25% of my students have learning disabilities. I also have students who are identified as gifted. With this wide range of needs and abilities, differentiated, project-based learning is the best!

My Project

My goal is to ensure all of my students LOVE READING! There is a lot of pressure on Ohio's third graders to pass the Third Grade Reading Guarantee. While there is a great of test preparation that must be done, I strive to provide engaging and challenging lessons that empower and motivate my students.

Next school year, I would like to do a Wax Museum Book Report using the "Who Was..." series.

Students will select a person to study and use the book to guide their research. They will then dress like their person and present the information as if they were in a wax museum!
