For the Love of Music: Literacy & The Arts

Help me give my students music books and instruments including: Congas, a guitar, saxophone, violin and a skillset and love of music, that will serve them forever!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students thrive on challenges and are resilient in spite of them. They are some of the most intelligent and innovative individuals, in the world! Academically astute and athletically gifted, these world leaders have no ceiling to break. The sky is literally not the limit!

The students have decided to not only be empowered but to empower!

They have successfully conquered virtual learning and, as they return to hybrid coursework and/ or full-time in-person courses, they will boldly and confidently give this school their all and continue to prepare to change the world with peace, love and light.

My Project

Our students have courageously pivoted to virtual learning and back to in-person learning over a 20 + month period, and three separate school years. The magic of cross-curriculum teaching and learning is that students get a glimpse of how the real world operates. Math, science, social studies, English and the arts, all wrapped into one. Students will have the opportunity to not only learn about music theory but practically play the instruments that they have read about and have seen in music documentaries. With this incredible donation students will now have the opportunity to play congas, a guitar, saxophone, violin and read about Motown and contemporary music.

These incredible world leaders and global ambassadors will be able to experience the synergy between music arts, literacy and innovation, by creating their own scores, modifying notes and developing written music that speaks to their experience.

Students will now be able to perform their works in-person and virtually, stretching their audiences to include additional admirers. Because literacy is the cornerstone of every content area, this collaborative endeavor will not only empower students to read more but, will reveal to them the power of connectiveness!
