My Students

We are a trauma-heavy, high-poverty, high-needs school district with a large population of homeless students and families.

Despite the challenges our students face, they are passionate about science, technology, engineering, and mathematics—their thirst for knowledge is infectious!

Using a problem-solving based model, my students have made video games, created apps, built robots to solve various challenges, embark in numerous engineering projects, and become adept at problem-solving and perseverance.

Of equal importance, they are learning to work as part of a team and to collaborate with one another. These skills will be critical to their success both inside and outside the classroom.

My Project

The kits produced by Engineering is Elementary are of great quality and foster a high level of student engagement. This kit in particular uses a series of adventures with bubbles to explore scientific concepts aligned with curriculum standards. By using these kits, students are given the opportunity to engage in super-fun activities that create a deep love of learning.

Via outdoor, inquiry-based learning with BUBBLES students will work in teams to explore the engineering process while using a wide variety of materials to create the most effective bubble wands possible!

With spring just around the corner, this set of activities will also give us ample reason to spend time outdoors, absorbing refreshing rays of sunlight, breathing in fresh air, and enjoying the welcomed change in seasons.
