Help me give my students a new all in one printer, which will greatly improve my ability to scan and customize worksheets for individual student needs.
Our 7th-grade classes love to be engaged in the mystery and excitement of hands-on activities. Each day, we learn, discuss, and discover parts of their world that they didn't look at as closely as they do in a science classroom. I encourage students to debate and question the world around them.
To scan and print and make things individual for my students learning from home is my goal.
They love to get their hands messy in science experiments. But now we are learning from home, and I am trying to find new ways to make science exciting in PRINT. With every unit of study, their understanding of the world around them sparks engaging discussions and debates of science. Every year I am surprised by how weak my students' science vocabulary is. Learning vocabulary is not always enjoyable and I work hard to come up with new and exciting ways to present the material especially now. Colorful card sorts that can be scanned into the printer and shared with my students remotely would be amazing. Help me help my students from home with an all in one printer.
My Project
A new printer and ink will greatly improve my classroom by allowing me to print worksheets, copies of notes for special education students, and assessments when needed. The all-in-one printer allows me to scan images to my PowerPoint presentations and make custom worksheets to accommodate the needs of my classes.
Now, especially, when my students are at home, the ability for me to scan and customize individual worksheets and readings for my students is so important.
Unfortunately, budgets are tight and lab activities and experiments that require ordered materials each year rarely get funded. Every year I am surprised by how weak my students' science vocabulary is. Learning vocabulary is not always enjoyable and I work hard to come up with new and exciting ways to present the material. Donations towards this project will help generate curiosity, discussion, debate, and an overall understanding of the function and relationships in the environment around my students through the materials that it will print. Science should not be taught by copying from a textbook that is 10 years out of date; it needs to be taught to current events and materials that can give them the differentiation that they need.
