Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach resource/inclusion classes. My students have mild to moderate disabilities, which include ADHD, learning disabilities, health impairments, and autism.
Our class would benefit from snacks, hygiene projects, and fidgets to keep them focused.
Because of their disabilities, my students have higher levels of inattention, impulsivity, and/or hyperactivity than their peers. Meeting their basic needs for hygiene and food can help them have fewer distractions. Additionally, fidgeting has been shown to increase attention, and the tools in this project would provide quiet activities that don’t bring other students' focus toward it.
