My Project

Aloha,

Our school was hit hard by the recent Kona Low storm.

Roughly 70% of the school requires repairs. While we wait to access our classrooms, we can assume that most of our materials are gone.

I have worked to establish my classroom as a safe space for my students, who often come from complicated and challenging home lives. This project helps us replace items from our classroom that worked to establish that space. Some of our critical items include flexible seating (walking pad, standing desk, futons, and rolling chairs), alternative lighting (soft-light lamps, LED lamps, and LED lights), welcoming rugs, shelves for books, and alternative workspaces. Additionally, this project helps replace the large number of consumable resources (Expo markers, composition books, etc) and reusable resources (binders, class novels, color printer for PBL, etc) that are gone because of the storm.
