Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are from all over Maryland and come to our school to board during the week to get the best and safest education away from distractions and daily struggles. We provide a tuition-free public college preparatory education from grades 6-12 and provide support through college also.

Our kids are resilient and strong, persevering through the pandemic online and in person.

Building relationships with parents and students is key to our student success and most students consider us bonus parents. My kids are incredible and I love them as I love my own children!

My Project

Most people do not realize the impact of colors on learning. Tones like yellow and orange make it simpler for students to focus. Colored paper helps notes and important documents stand out in a binder or folder for ease in retrieval and reminders of what is more important for reviewing and studying.

Hole-punching assignments help with organization and self-management.

Printing in color is a way to encourage creativity in learning minds and inspires them to work harder to make more professional and crisp products, adding a sense of pride in a job well done. I want to provide these options for student assignments to teach them tools that they can use themselves in life beyond school.
