My Students

Do you remember your days in elementary school? Well, I do, and nothing stands out for me. At our school, we create a new environment where our students are proud to say where they attend. Our students have a sense of school pride and community. My students are very eager to come to school​ and learn.

Our students attend a Title I school where all of the students receive free or reduced-price lunch.

Many of our students have economic​ hardships, yet come to school each day and give their all. Many of our students experience things that are out of their control and seek help from me, their school counselor. This is literally all hands on deck! This year is a challenging year for everyone, but it has taught us to slow down and focus on what matters.

My Project

I have the privilege of seeing all of the students at my school each and every morning as they come into school. This gives me the opportunity to chat with them and many let me know if they need a snack for the day.

Knowing that these snacks could help them stay focused on their schoolwork and help close the achievement gap that so many of my students are facing I always like to have them available.

Currently, my snack bin is running low and needs to be replenished. The juice, cookies, and candy will be used to replenish my snack bin so that my students have access to healthy snacks when they need them.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
