This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
A comfortable, safe environment is crucial for learning. Hard floors are not the ideal place for students to sit during music class. Musicians need space to experience music through movement, singing, and playing instruments, but also be able to comfortably sit and write music.
Having flex seating will allow my students to be comfortable while siting during instruction, but also safe during exploration.
The flexibility of the seating will also allow for my students to work in small groups, give levels and choice during the lesson, and a versatile use of props for practice and performance. They will be truly multi-purpose and used by every student in the school. We need stack stools, a storage rack, floor cushions and yoga ball chair wobble seats.
