Help me give my students a way to stabilize their energy while they learn by letting them have the Gaiam balance ball chairs to help them focus when they are sitting.

Hooray! This project is fully funded
My students are curious, energetic, and eager to learn. They are kind to each other and encourage each other to be successful. Because my students have special needs, they especially enjoy hands-on-activities and things where they can move around. One of my first graders favorite activities is jumping for sight words or moving their bodies back and forth on the giant number line on the floor.
My second-graders are constantly in motion as well and definitely appreciate learning activities which involve movement.
They are getting very excited about reading as they become more successful. Their smiles light up the room when they realize that they read a whole page without making any mistakes. My students are amazing and I am blessed that I have the privilege of being their teacher.
The Gaiam yoga ball chairs will allow my students with special needs to keep their attention focused on the lessons since the chairs enable their bodies to still be moving, albeit in a constructive way. Students that have attention deficit disorder or other attention issues benefit from being able to move or have a sensory stimulus. Reading is one area in particular where lack of focus is very detrimental to the student's achievement. Small, focused-reading groups at the table, increase the skills necessary for my students to be able to read.
These chairs will enable my students to stay on task for the explicit instruction necessary for them to be successful in their goals.
