Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am an academic elective teacher at Southside H.S. in San Antonio, Texas. As members of the far south side community, many of my students live in a fully rural setting. In addition, my students are part of our Early College. My students are determined and goal-oriented and working with them is truly a joy! They complete the majority of their classwork online and often have to do so in a classroom of 30 or more students. While I love to encourage collaboration in my classroom this can often lead to a lot of academic conversation. Even though my students are excellent at staying on a task they can become distracted while working. It is especially distracting for my students who struggle to focus. By having noise-canceling earmuffs as a resource, students will be able to avoid all of these problems and focus on increasing their learning!

By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
