Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This year, my first and second graders have truly blossomed, making wonderful progress in their academics and their social-emotional awareness. I am incredibly impressed by their ability to work through challenges and foster a supportive environment for one another. To honor their dedication and help them transition smoothly into the summer months, I am looking to provide each child with an "End-of-Year Focus Kit."

Each kit will be housed in a clear summer bag and will include a "Focus Ninja" book to help them master the art of concentration and mindfulness.

To keep their creative sparks flying, I’m also including summer coloring books with stacking crayons and unique pens for journaling. Scented bookmarks, neon sunglasses, and inflatable beach balls will add an extra layer of joy and encourage them to stay active and engaged with reading while school is out.

These resources are specifically chosen to act as a bridge between their current success and their future grade levels. Rather than just being fun toys, these items give my students a way to practice the self-regulation and focus we’ve prioritized in class all year long. By supporting this project, you are helping my students navigate the transition to 2nd and 3rd grade with confidence and a positive mindset. My goal is for every student to head into the break feeling valued and ready to tackle their next big chapter as a Focus Ninja!
