This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As the year winds down, teachers like me start to make a list of the things they need to make next year just as (or even more!) successful. We reflect back on what works, what didn't, and what we need to help our students learn, grow, and thrive.
The following request includes many things I wish I had access to this year, that I believe will change the rigor and intentionality behind our learning next year.
I am requesting many things for our in-depth bird unit, including chart and sticky note paper, and owl pellets for dissection. This year, groups of students were able to work together to dissect a pellet, but next year I'd love for them all to have the opportunity to do some.
I am also requesting some dry erase number lines, which have been essential to young learners who are solving addition and subtraction problems up to 20. This year we all shared a number line, and the opportunity to give each student access to one would be a dream! I am also requesting a rolling storage cart.
I am also requesting some storage solutions for our many materials needed in class. Currently, our cubes are tattered and worn, and all the same color. They will not make it until next year. I am hoping to add some color coded new bins so that students can easily and safely access materials.
I am also requesting a pack of markers, so that my students have access to the colors and markers they need. We are typically out of markers by September! Finally I am requesting a TPT gift card to continue to support other teachers while looking for fun and engaging activities for our students in this shared space. Finally, we need key chain supplies for projects.
