The students in my school are curious, hands-on learners. They love learning and continuously amaze me with their hard work and dedication. They love math, especially when we work in small groups and use hands-on activities.
Approximately 25% of our classroom population receives support in either English Language Learning or Reading support services.
Our classroom is a mini family where we support each other and each child's own unique learning style. We celebrate both successes and mistakes together.
My Project
New research in reading shows that learning phonics skills is key. Flyleaf is providing free digital access to their library of guided reading books, which are based upon current reading research. These books can be used for in person learning or remote learning.
Students deserve to have access to materials that follow the best practices and current research in literacy instruction.
By purchasing the teacher manuals I will be able to provide students with research based best practices in phonics and guided reading. The books and manuals can be used for in person learning and transition seamlessly if we need to shift to remote instruction.
More than a third of students from low‑income households
