Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are naturally curious about the world around them. They love asking questions about the animals and plants they see outside—especially frogs hopping near puddles, butterflies in the garden, and the tiny bugs that live in the grass. Many of my students learn best through hands-on experiences and colorful, engaging books that bring science to life.

Our classroom includes students with different learning styles and reading levels.

Providing rich nonfiction books allows every child to explore topics they are interested in while building reading and science skills at the same time. For many of my students, school is where they have the greatest access to books about nature and science.

This project will provide a collection of engaging nonfiction books about frogs, insects, plants, and butterflies. These books will be used during science lessons, reading centers, and independent exploration time.

Students will be able to:

*Learn about frog life cycles and habitats

*Discover how bugs and insects help ecosystems

*Explore how plants grow and survive

*Understand the metamorphosis of butterflies

The books will support both science and literacy, helping students practice reading informational texts while learning about living things. Colorful photographs and kid-friendly explanations will make complex scientific ideas accessible and exciting.

Most importantly, these books will inspire students to become young scientists, observing the world around them and asking meaningful questions.

By supporting this project, donors will help bring the wonders of nature directly into our classroom and spark a lifelong love of science and reading.
