My Students

I teach 24 energetic, amazing and fabulous firsties in an urban PreK-8th grade school. One hundred percent of my students receive free lunch, and many of them come from families that are living well below the poverty line.

They are all so special because they always come to school with smiles on their faces, eager and ready to learn, no matter what the circumstances may be at home.

That type of enthusiasm and willingness to learn inspires me to do and want more for them.

My Project

An online subscription to Fluency and Fitness videos will help my students review essential reading and math skills while also providing fun movement breaks all from the projector screen in our classroom.

This resource is priceless because instructional time is not lost to scheduling brain breaks and the kids will be having so much fun that they won't even realize that they are learning!

There are videos for over 60 reading and math topics. These videos are a great way to get even the shyest students motivated to move, burn off that extra energy and get the wiggles out, all while learning!

The goldfish crackers are an added snack for students to have a snack break when their little brains and bodies get tired!
