Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Schools are often under funded and under staffed. My floor is often overlooked and not swept. I complain about it and I keep getting the response that the custodians are understaffed. Only my trash cans are emptied and that's it. My students deserve a clean floor and having a leaf blower would be a quick way to get the floor cleaned.

Besides the leaf blower being a great way to sweep the floor, having several automatic brush cleaners will make a quick job out of washing brushes.

This will make a difference in the time spent on cleaning that can be used on instruction and working studio time.

My art classroom can be messy and have a little disorganization. We can start with the floor cleaning and the upkeep of supplies to take pride in the classroom. While making the classroom clean and organized, the extra light pads will help my students get their art projects ready for the final drawing surface. In my class, we often do the rough sketches on inexpensive paper, and we use the portable light pads to transfer to the finished paper.

Ultimately, what I want for my students is to be proud of their work and their work space. It’s important that the students be happy with their work space because it invites ownership of their space which creates a comfortable learning environment.
