Floor Seating For Focus!

My students need options for seating during the day. I already have wiggle stools that have helped students with their focus. I would like to provide them with flexible floor seating as well!

My Students

My students are 5 to 7 year olds that live in a small town on a peninsula in mid-coast Maine. Many come from families that make their living from the ocean. This age group is full of curiosity and energy!

I want my students to be excited to come to school every day!

I want them to look forward to the next chapter in our book, our latest science project, the story we are writing or our new literacy centers! To be able to take full advantage of their learning, students need to be physically comfortable and have adequate choices for seating and movement throughout their day.

My Project

Young children are naturally full of energy. The challenge is to harness that energy in a positive way to help them focus, learn and be the best that they can be. I use brain breaks, movements breaks and quite times during the day to maximize focus and learning.

Flexible seating will be another way that students can take ownership of their classroom success.

Students will get to select where they sit (floor, low table, wiggle stools or regular chairs). We all learn and focus differently. Being able to choose which seating works best is powerful for young children. I already have much of what I need to make this happen. I am asking for some floor seating options to complete this plan. Thank you for your help.
