Flood, Flood, Go Away... Please Replace Seating for READING Today!
Help me give my students a child sized couch and chair which were recently destroyed during a school flood, so that our young learners can continue to develop a love for reading with comfortable seating.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our young learners love to read and explore books. Recently, our classroom experienced flooding due to frozen pipes which damaged our entire reading area. Replacing the damaged seating will enable students to continue their journey of reading. A comfy, cozy child-sized couch and supportive chair will help promote and develop foundational literacy skills throughout our daily learning experiences. Students will be able to sit with a friend or individually and work on literacy skills such as reading a book or retelling a story. Our young learners will also be able to work on social/emotional and oral language skills. STEM skills are imperative to a four-year-old because they help students regulate emotions and practice compassion, empathy, and tolerance.
By providing a safe, cozy, and inviting child-sized, home-like space, we can encourage our students to delve into the wonderful world of reading.
Your support will help us to read and succeed in building upon imperative literacy skills. Providing the furniture will ensure that each student is able to read letters, words, and sounds and enjoy their journey toward reading success in a healthy, safe, and inviting environment!
