Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Most of the students at this school are learning English as a second language. Many of them receive free or reduced-price lunch. They love coming to school to learn, and they love everything about school: reading, writing, math, and extracurricular activities.

My students are in a low socioeconomic area, but they love coming to school to learn in a safe and warm environment.

They want to come to school every day to learn and be with friends who help them grow to become productive adults in the future. We learn about STEAM activities and enjoy making things work in our club.

My Project

I plan on coaching a community LEGO Team for grades 3-8. Students will follow the rules set forth by FIRST Students are given a challenge and will participate in a tournament. This project is requesting two additional programming stations and a laptop for competition.

Robots keep young minds creative and engaged in STEM activities.

Learning about teamwork is displayed through this process of being on a FLL team. Students will meet weekly through virtual meetings to discuss their designs before competition date. Robotics is a great way to help students learn about engineering and programming. The Mac minia and monitors will be used by students to program their EV3 Mindstorm robots and the laptop will be used to download programs so we can take to competition.
