This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach fourth graders in an inner-city school in New Jersey. I love my job and find it to be one of the most rewarding feelings when I can change or influence one student's outlook on something. This year, I will have approximately 22 students from a variety of ethnic backgrounds and neighborhoods. This year, my "classroom" will look very different, but to me, it will still be a room full of very bright students who are eager to learn. Because my classroom will, at least to start, be my home office, I am asking for general teaching supplies to be used for my "home classroom" so that I may enhance my ability to teach remotely. Any donations I receive for my classroom are greatly appreciated by myself, my students, and my parents! I am proud to be a DonorsChoose.org classroom!

My Project

Last March, we, as teachers and students, had suddenly found ourselves in unknown territories. We navigated these uncharted waters with our heads held as high as we could hold them! One of the most difficult challenges I found during this "switch" was not having certain teaching supplies that I would normally use daily with my students.

I am asking for general teaching supplies such as chart paper, a supply caddy, markers, and a dry erase easel to be used in my home office/classroom while I am teaching virtually.

These items will help me while I teach through video platforms such as Zoom or Google Meets.
