Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I work at a Title I school where the students have a desire to learn, but they do not always have the supplies they need in order to experience all that the world has to offer to them. The school itself does a great job in encouraging the students to keep alive their desire to learn and strengthen their abilities to work hard to achieve their goals. Overall, my students are respectful and caring kids who have a passion for learning so they can gain the knowledge they need to become better citizens of society.

My Project

My students absolutely love the flexible seating arrangement we have so far within our classroom. They get to move around and learn in a comfortable setting that is conducive to their learning. These materials will enhance their learning environment to allow them to choose from more options that could help them become more focused and interested in their own learning. For example, the seat bands will allow my students who possess ADHD remain focused on tasks while still moving.

Along with letting them feeling comfortable in their own learning environment, these options can allow them feel a sense of independence when making choices in how they grow within our classroom.
