Our 4th graders are amazing! Our school is a public charter school located on the North Side of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. We teach at a school that is designed to meet the needs of students with language-based learning differences, focusing primarily on students with dyslexia. We serve students from over 26 different school districts, from varying backgrounds with 100% of our students receiving free lunch.
We strive to help every child know that they can prosper regardless of the obstacles they have and will face in life.
Many of the children in our classroom are curious, willing, imaginative and creative. We teach the children perseverance, compassion, and self-control.
My Project
Were you that student who was accused of always having the wiggles? Was it hard for you to sit still while you were learning? Wouldn't it be great if you learned and were comfortable doing it? In order to foster a love of learning, we want our students who are often anxious about school to have a wide variety of fun seating options.
Our students will be able to choose the seat that keeps them engaged and gives them more control over their learning environment.
Our students need flexible seating options to help them get their wiggles out in order for them to maximize their learning potential in our math and science classroom. Flexible seating gives students choice as well as the opportunity for movement. Physical activity improves behavior and academic performance.
