I want our students to feel confident! I want all students to be seen, even the most quiet of voices. This project will allow everyone to become involved in our classroom, to build self-efficacy, and belonging. It will also increase academic confidence and performance. We want to give our students a classroom where they feel empowered. Were you that student who was accused of always having the wiggles? Was it hard for you to sit still while you were learning? Flexible seating gives students choice as well as the opportunity for movement. Physical activity improves behavior and academic performance. Our students will be able to choose the seat that keeps them engaged and gives them more control over their learning environment. Some of our students seem to be easily distracted and do not have a sense of organization. Executive Functioning is needed for the students to succeed. The drawstring book bags will help all of my students be organized. They will be able to carry all of their materials to and from each class.These bags allow students to carry notebooks and supplies with ease. We also need cabinets so our students can place their science notebooks and other textbooks all in one place in the classroom. Lastly, we would like to add daily use of technology to our math and literacy stations in order to extend and explore learning topics through skills practice. The use of Osmo would appeal to all learners since it presents many levels of learning and moves the learner through an adaptive pace.
