Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My students love the pleasure of lounging around and reading a good book. Having flexible seating, such as a brand new carpet, stools, and bean bag chairs, will create a comfortable environment in my classroom for learning and reading a good book.

Students will be able to have control over their learning environment and have more comfortable spaces for learning.

I currently have limited options for flexible seating but students generally select an option that is beneficial for them. I have noticed an increase in participation and motivation since introducing the seating I have now, as limited as it is. This project will support academic and social-emotional engagement and well-being.
