My Project

The idea of flexible seating is research-backed and helps students take charge of their learning and, from a teacher's perspective, it could potentially limit behaviors. In trying to become a better educator who implements part of the UN's sustainability goals, I believe that doodle pads would be a great investment. They would eliminate the need for dry-erase markers and erasers, and make learning more enjoyable and fun for the students. The other items will help with executive functioning in terms of helping me create anchor charts, promote SEL goals with a classroom charter, and display student work.

My goal is to make my classroom engaging, promote student advocacy, and help those students who may struggle with accessing content.

The students in my class are special because they are naturally curious (problem-solving STEM kits), are open to trying new strategies, and have experience in some unconventional seating arrangements.
