Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from low-income homes. Many of them are English language learners with little to no English exposure. Despite the hardships some go through, they still manage to come to school each day and enter the classroom with smiles on their faces. When they enter my class, they are curious and eager to learn!

My students are innovative, creative, and excited to learn.

One hundred percent of our students receive free or reduced-price lunch. It is very unfortunate that due to their socioeconomic status, my students do not have the same materials or opportunities that they strongly deserve to become successful learners. The pandemic and distance learning had a huge impact on all students. They need support now more then ever.

My Project

Kids love the freedom of choice, especially at school. When students have the choice to sit where they want in the classroom, they are more willing to complete their work. Giving them the freedom of choice between different seating options has a whole new meaning when it comes to learning.

Surf seats and lap desks will give my students the option to work on the floor in an area that is both fun and functional!

Kids love sitting on the floor. It can be under their desk, on the front carpet, in the library area, as long as they're sitting on the floor, they are happy. These materials will make a huge impact on student learning and willingness to complete their work.
