My Students
My third grade classroom will have 25 students at the start of the school year. Our students have been AMAZING during this time of confusion and chaos. They have risen to all the challenges that have come their way and have persevered through 4 months of distance learning and are excited to come back to the classroom in person through a hybrid model starting in September.
Due to Covid restrictions, we have had to take out all rugs/cushions in our classroom.
Our students will be mostly sitting at their desks all day, unless we are able to take them outdoors-weather permitting. The students used to love relaxing on the rug to read a story or to sit on a cushion to work with their partners.
I have a high number of students who will not learn best from sitting in a chair all day. These students need the ability to move around and change their learning location-which has been halted in our classrooms for the moment.
My Project
Flexible seating will allow my students the opportunity to remain focused, even while needing to remain in their own area due to Covid policies at our school.
I have many students who sitting at a desk all day isn't in their best interests.
These students need the opportunity to move around while working. With these seat cushions and wobble stools, the students will be able to stay a safe distance away from their peers (in their own areas), while having the opportunity to sit somewhere that will give them the freedom to move and get their wiggles out!
