My Students

Our students are energetic, motivated, and love learning.

Our school consists of remarkable children who need movement. We live in a rural community in central Pennsylvania, many of our students receive free and reduced lunch. But our school pride is immense and our district is supportive of providing our kids with the best education.

We incorporate a variety of teaching strategies and flexible seating options to meet our students' needs.

My Project

Flexible seating allows students to move around the room and sit in a place they are comfortable. As an adult, I know that when I need to get work done I want to be comfortable in the way I am doing so. Flexible seating options give options for learners to utilize their choice and decision making. It also teaches students to be responsible in their choices and to pick a space where they can be successful.

The Cricut Explore Air will allow us to create signs and vinyl directions for the flexible seating, as well as help in the continuation of our sensory walkway which allows for all students to take a movement break throughout the day.

This past year our school created a sensory walkway for our students using money from Donors Choose, the teachers here all donated their time and use of their cricut machines to make this possible. With the purchase of our own cricut, it will be time saving and more convenient when the time comes to add additional pieces to the walkway.
