Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students come to school excited and ready to learn everyday! They are the heartbeat of my classroom. My goal is to create an atmosphere they are proud of and enjoy. They are energetic and curious. There is a strong sense of community within the class.

By allowing my students the freedom of choice, they are able to take ownership of their learning.

I teach 22-26 high energy seven year olds. I work hard to encourage relationships, following directions, and develop independence. My students show up each morning eagerly anticipating our day together.

My Project

A classroom of options will give my students the opportunity to sit comfortably and move around while they are learning. A rectangular table that is low to the floor will be used with the wobble cushions or students can kneel at the table if they'd rather. The table that provides options for students who like to stand or students who want to sit on a stool to learn.

This project would significantly help my students stay engaged in our learning throughout the day.

I want them to feel comfortable and at home in our classroom. I cannot wait to see all of the things we can do with flexible seating!
