Our students come from a variety of different cultures and economic backgrounds. More than three-fourths of my class receive free or reduced-price lunch. Last year our school district along with our neighborhood was impacted by Hurricane Harvey.
Our school is a Title I campus.
Each morning before getting the day started we began with positive affirmations. Our class is a tight-knit group. They are so loving and encouraging towards one another, it makes me want to be a better teacher.
My Project
My students are inclusive second graders who attend a Title I school. These students have a wide variety of physical and/or cognitive needs. Despite all of these challenges, they still come to school with smiles on their faces, full of questions, and ready to learn. Each day they inspire me and everyone they come in contact with to be the best they can be!
My students are curious, learn from their friends, and learn in the most comfortable environment.
In order for all students to be successful: we vary learning strategies, incorporate group work, complete different hands-on projects and make sure ALL of their needs are met. This is why we want to give them flexible seating options that include Beanbags, Wobble Chairs, Soft Seats, Comfy Floor Seats and Balance Balls. They are an incredible group and each year I consider myself to be so lucky to have the opportunity to watch them grow over the year.
