My Students

I have a diverse group of active Kindergarteners who love to learn! I am working towards building a classroom that includes flexible seating options. I have noticed that kids who are given options for seating are able to better regulate their behavior. Students who can choose where they sit are able to focus on their work. My kindergarteners benefit from moving their bodies as they learn.

I strive to offer my students a variety of learning environment to support each student's individual learning goal.

My Project

We currently have four Hokki stools that my students LOVE but I would like two more stools to complete my small group table. The stools allow my students to wiggle while they work. I want to give them every opportunity move while still being on task.

My small group table allows for six students to sit with me, but at this time I only have stools for four students. I meet with students at this table during reading workshop to support readers who are all working on the same goal. We also work on small group writing strategies during writing workshop and math strategies during math workshop.
